Last month, Chike released an outstanding body of music, ‘Son of Chike’, doubling as an ode to his rich Igbo culture. Outside of the monster hit ‘Egwu’ with over 250 million streams featuring the late MohBad, some other records on the album that I enjoyed are ‘Lifetime Love’ for the lovers, ‘Ego Oyibo’—which uses catchy hypnotic instrumentation and speaks of spending money, and ‘Mma (Beauty)’ about how much he appreciates his lady, her “fair/yellow” looks, and what she means to him. Listen to the English, Nigerian Pidgin, and Igbo sung compositions to explore Chike’s themes, like not having someone you love’s heart on ‘Someone’ and love (‘Your Loss’) with Qing Madi below.

It is a solid project with a groovy and soothing base, ready to entertain anyone at any age.

I am Osebuka, the son of my father, and this album symbolizes and celebrates my heritage and identity as a #SonOfChike and my new musical offspring joining the ranks of those that came before.#SonOfChike☀️ https://t.co/QgUjtaHxj4 pic.twitter.com/bl3zoiQqyJ
