I think most of us have been there where Benson Boone has been. Where, you may ask? Unfortunately, through the seemingly dark tunnels of heartbreak. In this case, it appears to be a four-year healing (totaling four Decembers). Like the young recording artist born in Monroe, Wisconsin, some of us have experienced rough patches we couldn’t see beyond. And unbeknownst to us, one day, it stops hurting so much. Then, miraculously, with love, guidance, and the grace of God, we find someone that our family loves as much as they love us. What I enjoy most about from the songwriters on this track, with over 334 million streams and counting on Spotify, is their intention to credit the creator and give thanks everyday because God can take what He gifts us.

Each lyric soaks in humility and fear—noting the temporary loss of his mind and faith during that dark time (those four Decembers). Is it safe to say that although he seems to have a perfect partner, his past still haunts him, making him feel like he may lose the love of his life?

Next month, starting on April 2, Benson Boone embarks on his ‘Fireworks & Rollerblades’ world tour with support from the talented popstar Mimi Webb, who has a new single called ‘Mistake’ produced by Ryan Tedder (Adele, Taylor Swift). It will be her third tour in the United States.
