Doja Cat has opened up about her mental health. The global star recently revealed a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. At the same time, she publicly defended fellow pop singer Chappell Roan.

According to Doja Cat, the disorder “caught up with” her. She explained that she spent years pretending everything felt fine. However, suppressing emotions eventually became overwhelming.
More about BDP
Borderline personality disorder, often called BPD, affects emotional regulation. People living with BPD may experience intense mood swings. Additionally, the condition can involve impulsive behaviour and unstable relationships.
Despite the diagnosis, Doja Cat remains focused on healing. She revealed that therapy plays a major role. In fact, she said treatment could take eight years. Nevertheless, she expressed pride in the progress she has already made.
Meanwhile, the singer used the same video to defend Chappell Roan. Recently, Roan made headlines after confronting paparazzi in Paris. The viral moment sparked debate across social media.
Some critics accused Roan of acting rude or ungrateful. However, Doja Cat strongly disagreed with that narrative. Instead, she praised Roan for protecting her boundaries.
Importantly, Doja clarified that she was not diagnosing Roan. Still, she admired the singer’s honesty in uncomfortable situations. She said Roan’s behaviour inspired her to become more truthful with herself.
Doja Cat also criticised the pressures artists face daily. Paparazzi encounters, fan demands, and constant scrutiny create heavy stress. As a result, she believes performers deserve empathy.
Ultimately, the moment sparked a larger conversation online. Fans praised Doja Cat for speaking openly about mental health. Others appreciated her defence of a rising pop star.
For Doja Cat, the message felt simple. Honesty matters. Healing takes time. And artists deserve space to be human.
