TÖME, Canada’s bold Afro-Fusion artist, releases new addictive track ‘Fine Pass’

TÖME (pronounced toe-me), the rising singer-songwriter with a penchant for creating and performing, released her new smooth single ‘Fine Pass’. The artist softly interpolates Nigerian pidgin to tell the delicate story about a hot and passionate love that took time (“Finally, I dey try for your loving/I take time for your loving/I don’t mind when you love me like that”). By the end of the hook/chorus, you’ll discover that the JUNO Award-winning singer has attracted a patient provider—the kind of man most women dream of.
From the top of the second verse of the earworm, she flexes her muscle and gets protective of her man. It is why she desires his touch (“I want it all night, baby lie down”), wanting him all the time for long periods of time. Towards the middle of song, we were delighted to hear the “oh no, no, no, no” that took us back to 1996, where the late great R&B/Soul superstar Aaliyah showed us who she was on her sophomore album cut ‘Hot Like Fire (Timbaland’s Groove Mix)’ featuring vocals from Missy Elliott and Timbaland.
It is safe to say the single from the Nigerian French-Canadian’s forthcoming project ‘Prelude’ is a new addition to your danceable, sensual Afro-R&B playlists or spun, where your finest Afrobeats party DJs frequent.
As the comms shared, TÖME has “shared the stage with African superstars like Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Mr Eazi, as well as collaborat[ed] with pop stars like King Promise, Runtown, Zlatan, and Sean Kingston. With those names and moments in her arsenal, we could only imagine what’s next for her.
