R&B-Pop sensation Tinashe shares digital album—Nightride—ahead of next album.
Nightride is a journey of love. Ahead of Tinashe’s album, she released “Nightride.” The 15-track digital project is a sexy, sensual escapade of Tinashe’s mind.
Jumpstarting the project with “Lucid Dreams,” the 23-year-old singer lets us know she is control of her life. No one can direct it. Nor should they try. The rhythm and song pattern of “C’est La Vie” is like what most songs are today. After “Binaural Test,” the energy increases on the Metro Boomin-produced “Sacrifices.” So far, “Company” is a taker. It is the only song that I would add to a playlist. Key parts of “You Don’t Know Me” reminds me of an AC-DC record—due to the backmasking.

“Soul Glitch,” “Spacetime,” and “High Speed Chase” are in the same boat for me. I can live without them but they are necessary for Tinashe’s message. “Ride Of Your Life” and “Party Favors” are standouts for obvious reasons. They are distinct in sound, bass heavy, evokes a hard-edge attitude, and one of the records introduces vocals by another performer. Like “Sacrifices,” “Ride Of Your Life” is notably produced by Metro Boomin. “Touch Pass” sounds like a hit record, conceptualized in the late 90s to early 00s. “Nightride” ends with a “Ghetto Boy,” a song about someone she doesn’t want to live without.
According to a tweet by Rolling Stone, “Nightride” is ‘the first part of a double album.’ We’re looking forward to Tinashe and her idol Britney Spears’ official music video for “Slumber Party.”

Tinashe Jorgenson Kachingwe, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, actress and former model. She began her entertainment career at the age of three when she began modeling and acting. In 2012, Tinashe released two critically acclaimed mixtapes, In Case We Die and Reverie, which she created in her home studio. After the release of the mixtapes, Tinashe signed with RCA Records. She later released her third mixtape, Black Water (2013). Her debut single, “2 On”, reached number one on the Rhythmic airplay chart, and peaked at number 24 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
