Telana is worth your time.

Telana, a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, is described as an artist with raw energy and soulfulness. In my opinion, her music is mature. It is far beyond the ability of someone her age in 2014 when she released Aether.
Two years later, the enigmatic soul from this up-and-coming talent returns with a new EP that is very reminiscent of her previous projects. Telana’s latest, Aerbourne EP, revisits the raw, soulful sounds she shared in the past. Now, though, it has developed into a more subtle, mellow and controlled sound. Fans of her previous work may draw comparisons to the talents of Jhene Aiko, Tinashe, or an SZA. However, while listening to this project, some may experience a similar energy from mid-2000’s Soul phenoms like Nelly Furtado, Macy Gray, or even a Corinne Bailey Rae. It is evident in her delivery and cadences. Showing off a multitude of emotions and her range, listeners can hear them in tracks like Fairytales and LemonDrops.
Aerbourne includes five tracks. Three of those tracks feature production from a Chicago-native House-Electronica Prov and some production from Meniskos and Willow Smith. One unique takeaway from this project is Telana revisiting Willow’s abstract and vibrant F-Q-C 11 track. Like the previously mentioned tracks, Faertales, LemonDrops, and AiCarumba, show the quality of purpose of Prov and Meniskos’s production. Although this project is short, it sticks. This project is worth your time.
