t is seldom we hear about recording artist slash attorneys, but today, we’d have to make an exception. Born and bred in Columbus, Ohio—South 22nd Street to be exact—comes one who goes by T. Wong (stylized as T.Wong). Pulling music influences from several genres (Blues and Gregorian Chant) and artists like Nat King Cole and the Eagles, T. Wong began his musical journey four years ago. He credits Dr. Roger Parish for his assistance.
When asked what inspired the new project, the singer replied, “Life inspired the project.” According to the Midwest musician, his family and others experienced transitions (career changes, family changes, and life changes in general) simultaneously. As far as the title of his LP goes, it isn’t a mere play on Netflix-original drama Stranger Things, but a realization that life and things can be seen and felt and lived from various angles.”
When he explained how the album differs from previous releases, he said: It utilizes digital sounds accented with live instruments. T. Wong’s earlier recordings were live. “Overall, the execution is more resolute,” he said. T. Wong refers to this project as a “milestone” where his art is surer than before.
