It was a celebratory moment all around the streets of Johannesburg last night as the South African national team defended their title against the All Blacks of New Zealand following a 12-11 victory at the Rugby World Cup finals.

The New Zealand All Blacks were profound and magnificent too; playing with 14 men for much of the game, most of the ambition came from their brilliant backs, but they were up against a defense that racked up a total of 209 tackles and missed only 12% of them.

The All Blacks missed two shots at goal, with Richie Mo’unga unable to slot a 58th-minute sideline conversion, and Jordie Barrett missing a penalty from just over halfway in the 73rd minute.

Springboks took the lead in the first half of the game with 6 points ahead of the All Blacks of New Zealand (12-6), with Handre Pollard sealing the victory for South Africa with four penalty goals making them the only rugby team to have won every World Cup final they have played in.

This was truly a historic and iconic win for all South Africans.

Congratulations to Springboks! Congratulations to South Africa!
