Bittersweet EP – Chris Adjei
Chris Adjei has a refreshing sound and his ‘Bittersweet EP’ is a pleasant combination of unique sounds. Each song is an experience and his voice is so relaxing no matter how upbeat the song may sound. Leaning towards Alternative sounds, the production on the project stands out but doesn’t drown out his almost childlike voice.

Drill music is still very much alive in the Ghanaian music space and this song from rapper-producer Kay-T cannot be described without using the word: Heated! Over the Drill beat, Kay-T’s energy in his delivery matches the urgency that comes with the hustle he’s rapping about.

Forward – M3NSA
No one’s music represents authenticity like M3NSA’s music. He’s definitely going down in Ghanaian music history as a legend. On this song, over an incredible production, M3NSA inspires and encourages everyone to take time to breathe and not beat themselves up as they push forward in life, pursuing their dreams. The song preaches moving at your own pace and does a great job at generally projecting the message in the lyrics through the composition and production.

First Sermon – Black Sherif
I hate that this is just a freestyle, but it hits so hard it just had to be on this list. The young artiste’s passion and hunger are easily felt in the delivery and it’s interesting how he switches his flow in different ways over the Drill beat, singing in the Ghanaian language, Twi.

Spoilt Child – Kobla Junior featuring Pappy Kojo
South Africa’s Amapiano genre has slowly infiltrated other regions and even though, Nigeria is exploring the sound in full force, Ghanaian artistes are slowly catching up. On this song, Kobla Junior and his feature, Pappy Kojo, glide effortlessly over the Amapiano production singing about all the explicit things they’d like to do to their partners.

Winning – Kwesi Arthur featuring Vic Mensa
Kwesi Arthur’s superpower must be giving amazing hooks and this song is pure proof! There’s something about this Hip-Hop joint from the Ghanaian singer-rapper and Ghanaian-American rapper, Vic Mensa, that sounds fresh every single time you listen to it. The production, verses and of course, the hook deserve a 10/10 every time!

Dove Nicol – Calm Down
On her debut single, the singer’s rich voice is what stands out on this Afrobeats number titled ‘Calm Down’. The song does exactly what you’d expect from a new introduction in the Ghanaian music space: It sparks curiosity on what to expect from her on subsequent songs and honestly, I am curious to see what her range is.
