HXLT’s visuals for “Sick” are impressive. It starts out with the Chicago-native artist performing in a red room and the scenery quickly changes. In no time, he is arguing with his significant other over a petty issue. We have all had them (crazy girlfriend problems), but HXLT came up with the perfect solution. Instead of staying and arguing, he decided to leap out of the window and time travel into the past.

On the first trip, he landed in the middle of a standoff with police, all the way back in 1968. HXLT apparently didn’t want anything to do with that, so he jumped forward into 1992. Within 30 seconds of him arriving, his girlfriend tried to start another argument, resulting in another time travel. This time, he lands in the 80’s, and there is no drama.

Instead of an argument, his lover challenges him to a dance battle. Easily, he wins the battle and travels through time again before the end of the video. HXLT’s surroundings are not the only thing that changed during this video. In the middle of the song, the beat changes tempo. In the beginning, this song sounds like a regular Punk Rock record but at 1:25 a new melody emerges. The original was changed slightly to give the song a more Hip-Hop feel. Not many people can blend Hip-Hop and Rock, but HXLT has perfected it! His style is the mixture of these two genres, and it fits him like a glove.

“Sick” is a song that many of us can relate to because we all have experienced loving someone that we cannot stand at some point in our lives. It is a commonality. Show this GOOD Music artist some love and support. Watch and share the music video below.
