Salimata, the Brooklyn bred rapper-poet delights in the fruits of her labour for ‘Supastar Livin’: Watch the visual

A lyrical bully with buns.

Salimata - Supastar Livin

Minding her business under the clear blue skies in Thailand, Brooklyn’s buzzing rapper-poet eases through the wonders of life in a cocaine white bathrobe. As the song title suggests, Salimata lives her best life and shows receipts through ‘Supastar Livin’. Never short of clever ways to say something memorable and priceless, her unique vocal texture could deeply satisfy a nostalgic Hip-Hop fan’s soul. The resplendent bars effortlessly disperse and land like Sully Sullenberger. She bathes and swoons before donning her small frame in black swimwear, complementing her lengthy locks.

More about Salimata

Salimata is a Brooklyn-born rapper and poet who carved her lane through persistence and raw talent. From an early age, she grew up in East New York, where she first sharpened her pen through poetry. Soon after, she transformed those poems into freestyles. At the same time, she recorded early videos and shared them online, steadily building confidence with every post. Rather than wait for industry validation, she created her own momentum. As a result, she began shaping her identity on her own terms.

As her voice developed, key figures in New York’s underground scene took notice. In particular, artists connected to the 10k Global collective encouraged her to release her debut album, ‘OUCH’, in 2022. From there, she stepped forward with conviction. The project introduced listeners to her sharp lyricism and emotional transparency. Instead of chasing trends, she leaned into honesty. Consequently, her music resonated with fans who value substance over spectacle.

Following that release, she continued refining her sound. For example, projects like ‘Wooden Floors’ revealed growth and deeper self-reflection. Meanwhile, she expanded her reach beyond New York. Today, she moves between the United States and Europe, performing live and strengthening ties with Fada Records. With each stage appearance, she reinforces her presence. Moreover, with each verse, she sharpens her authority.

Ultimately, Salimata doesn’t simply participate in Hip-Hop culture. Rather, she actively shapes it. Through discipline, intention, and lived experience, she builds a catalogue that reflects both her Brooklyn roots and her expanding global vision.
