In a new television series, ‘Rebuilding Black Wall Street’, American actor Morris Chestnut bands with designers, builders and experts to work with the Tulsa, Oklahoma community. As the team set their goals to restore their town, specifically the historic Greenwood District, Oprah Winfrey’s network ‘OWN’ has chosen to spotlight the process, not leaving out the pressure that comes with it. With its rich roots following the unfortunate demise due to the insufferable racism against Black people, often leading to physical violence and death in America during the 1920s, surviving residents tried to revive the area, but it wasn’t the same.

Now, the grandchildren of the local businessowners are trying to bring it back. The show, ‘Rebuilding Black Wall Street’, airs for the first time on Friday, September 29 at 9/8 Central Standard Time exclusively on OWN. Watch the two-minute trailer below.
