Nigerian Pop star and Keyqaad act Omah Lay unveils the cinematic music video for his latest single, ‘Understand’.
The video opens with a tense exchange, which finds an unarmed Omah Lay surrounded by men with machetes, knives, and bats. The clip jumps from romantic moments to the aftermath of a melee as he confidently walks through the fray. Stylish and vibrant scenes include a nighttime boat ride and a jet-setting star ready to take flight again. The editing moves in lockstep with the afrobeat bounce and hook.
The video for ‘Understand’ was shot in Ghana and directed by TOPSHOTTA for Fax Films. The single has amassed over ten million online streams and marked Omah Lay’s reunion with Nigerian music producer Tempoe; who produced his 2020 smash hit single, ‘Godly’.
