I

was four-years-old when the golden nineties started. So someone at my age couldn’t possibly experience the era like the generation before me. However, it was an era that most humans still hold in high regard (even if their birth date disqualifies them). Back in the 90s, television programming seemed to be creative, the music business was booming, and women were embracing their hypersexuality. Oh, the nineties were something interesting. If only we could go back.

As the New York City-based singer-songwriter adopts lyrics from another singer, the ultimate message is clear. Falling in love is a sensation that most humans get to feel. Some of us, more self-contained than others. When some lovers are in it, we think it is going to last forever. In all actuality, we don’t want it to end. We become mesmeric. We feel that they are the best thing to happen to us, vice versa.

“Damn, they don’t make them like this no more,” MAAD sings.

‘90s Love’ goes out to all lovers who have to fight for their right to be in love. Watch the music video below.

If you like what you see and hear, stream MAAD’s eclectic seven-track extended play titled, ‘LÉ FUNK’ below. The last track ‘Touch Me’ features GRAMMY-nominated R&B/Soul singer Ro James.

Note from the Editor: For months on end, MAAD’s publicists reached out to me, looking to land their client a placement. I appreciate their persistence. It’s what made me get around to it, eventually. Her talent made was the final deciding factor.
