“Greeves” had glimmers of hope.

hen I was a kid, my parents would only listen to 70s and 80s music. It was like nothing else existed in the world besides that era of music. So what if I walked around with bell bottoms and platforms in the 90s. I was super dapper. Don’t lie!

To me, the Human Circuit’s latest song “Greeves” feels like the 80s with a big horns section. It’s like I’m listening to a mix of The Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band and Hall and Oats on Man Eater if they couldn’t sing. But hey, not everyone who sells a bunch of records sings amazing, they make great music though.

I mean, look at David Bowe, Keith Sweat, Madonna, Lana Del Rey, and dare I say, Rihanna. I still will listen to all of these artists. Hell, David Bowie is one of my favorite artists, but I’ll be the first to say he can’t sing. The Human Circuit falls short on the great music part. It’s okay.

“Greeves” had glimmers of hope. For example, when the song began I liked it, but then, there’s an uncomfortable horns part that threw me off—entirely. I did finish listening to the song; hoping I would hear more of the female singing. They let me down again.

Listen for yourself and give your thoughts. For me, the song is dead on the horns. I love horns too; Normally.
