Flavour, a classic Nigerian singer-songwriter of our time, released the visual for his song ‘Umu Igbo’ featuring Biggie Igba. In it, we get to tour through Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi and Imo states. As someone who has yet to visit Nigeria, it is fascinating to see what it looks like, and how the people make a living, enjoy and entertain themselves. If the country needs an updated travel soundtrack, it can consider this song and its visual component. Whenever my now deceased uncle used to travel to come to see me in New York City, he would play African music in his car. I could see him listening to this record by Flavour. He liked this style of African music a lot. This Song of the Day is for him. I miss him, and I am thinking of him.
