Today, Chlothegod, the young power vocalist, unleashed the beauty that is her first extended play titled, ‘Nearly Straight’. The rising queer artist influenced by several genres covers the satisfaction of double dipping (‘Camille’), her patience running thin (‘UGOMDN’), and more on the musical effort. When describing her sound, the comms says, “the eclectic blend of genres now permeates her music, seamlessly blending Pop-Punk anthems with reverb-drenched guitars and luscious R&B melodies. Chlothegod’s ability to weave these disparate influences together creates a truly unique and unforgettable sonic experience, simultaneously venturing into new territory while invoking a sense of nostalgia.”
If you were/are a fan of Neo-Soul songs popularised in the early 00s performed by Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Bilal and many others, you may appreciate the seven-track project. On ‘Outta My Mind’ and ‘Took A Trip’, the artist shows us her Pop-Punk side, which we want to see/hear more of. In the meantime, check out the independent release now.
Alongside the release, the singer-songwriter embarks on her North American tour with Amindi tomorrow in Atlanta at The Masquerade. Other stops include New York, Chicago, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles.
