Today, American rapper Bobby Hagens released his latest track, ‘Take the Blame’, featuring Sy Ari da Kid. In the leisurely produced song, the artist details intimate moments with a past lover and the couple’s dilemmas. Based on the lyrics performed, he once considered marrying her. Unfortunately, the seemingly unshakable duo weren’t on the same page—meaning he wasn’t ready to wed. Eventually, the regretful rapper lost her and has been trying to repair their relationship. As the song progresses, he recounts how she treated him and his brother and how her kindness made him feel. Ending the primary verse with lyrics to credit his sweetheart for his survival, he raps the following lines, “If it wasn’t for you, I’d be buried now.”

Through the last verse, the gifted songwriter delves deeper into why they broke up. Still, he doesn’t miss the moment to appreciate her outward appearance and discuss her inquisitive nature. ‘Take the Blame’ is the follow-up to fan-favourite ‘A Love Like’. Stream the delicately made record below.

Bobby Hagens is a talented rapper born in Washington, DC, representing PG County, Maryland, with deep topics to convey. When it comes to his music, he describes himself as “vulnerable, transparent, therapeutic, and emotion evoking.” He’s joined forces with Westside Boogie, BJ the Chicago Kid, Chaz French, and more. His mother gave birth to him when she was sixteen. Hagens’ father—he’s named after him—passed away when he was nine years old. He wanted to keep his legacy alive by honouring him. As a result, Hagens’ grandmother, who he still has, raised him.
