On the day of this outstanding recording artists video release, we had a phone conversation about his music, where he’s from, and where he’s going. Unlike the boatload of artists I’ve come to meet and work with, Billyracxx is a different sort of a creator. Bold and daring are words that we often associate with artists as iconic as the Texas-based musical talent, but flamboyant is the one to add. Others might argue that “iconic” is a premature word to tag onto a person who has yet to breakthrough, but I’m unorthodox. As a matter of fact, I’ve been calling it since my teenage years. Billyracxx, unless he changes his mind about music, is next up. Watch the Missouri City, Texas-based artist’s new video for ‘Wonderland’. It’s visually stimulating. It reminds me of an early Busta Rhymes treatment—kind of in the way Jazz Cartier’s ‘Set Fire‘ video has.
Aside from his meticulously executed everything, Billyracxx has a vivid vision, which makes him put out more than the average budding artist. When he’s in New York, he’s among the city’s elite youth who dress to kill. Making a fashion statement is their day-to-day life. During our conversation, which wasn’t an interview by any means, he explained that though he is from the South. He understands what it takes to be from there, and how to carry himself to stand out.
