BBC drops ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ after 8 series
The show will move to Wow Presents Plus, exclusively.

The BBC has confirmed it is dropping ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ after eight series. Citing “significant financial pressures”, the broadcaster made the difficult call to end its run. Future seasons will move exclusively to Wow Presents Plus, the streaming platform owned by World of Wonder.
Since 2019, the Reality competition has transformed British drag culture. It turned performers such as La Voix, Danny Beard and Tia Kofi into household names. The show even spawned a hit single, ‘Break Up Bye Bye’, which charted on the UK Singles Chart.
Whilst the eighth series continues airing on BBC Three and iPlayer, fans worry about accessibility. Tia Kofi called the decision “illogical”, warning that marginalised audiences now have nowhere to go. The drag world, however, refuses to stay quiet.
