The young Nigerian star, known by many as Asake, has shared a new music video for ‘Peace Be Unto You’. The reel shot by TG Omori is a mixed bag of African meme culture, African trends, religious undertones, and street fashion. Borrowing the lurchy dance choreography from the viral Islamic dance meme, the music video weaves up the various religious nuances in the song. The great camera work from TG Omori creates a daring picture, exciting to the viewer. ‘Peace Be Unto You’ is heavily influenced by Fuji, Afrobeats, and Amapiano—elements that have become the staple of Asake’s sound. It’s no surprise why the music video received more than one million views on the day of its release.
