J. Cole has had a pretty great year so far, and this will probably be another highlight to add on to his list of accomplishments. Remixing a classic like the Tribe’s “Can I Kick It?” takes a lot of guts but, Cole loves a challenge, and he’s a student of the game so it’s only right that he would do something like this. Showing off his producing talents, he takes the a capella version of this classic and throws it on a funky, smooth track. This is a perfect homage to the Tribe, especially with the 25th anniversary of the People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm album coming up. The Tribe is reissuing a special edition of their classic album remastered, and Cole’s remix will be on it. Pharrell and Cee-Lo also provided a few remixes for the special reissue as well. Hip-Hop heads will love these remixes.
