Nailed it!
This week, Kim Kardashian posted a photo set. This time, the Armenian-American megastar wasn’t in anything sexy or showing dewy skin in a Skims bodysuit. She transformed into her growing teenage daughter, North West.
From the turquoise blue wig to the faux piercings, the pop culture queen didn’t miss a single detail to mirror her little one’s energy. She covered her face and wore black grills. Who better to nail your aura than your mother?
Since Kardashian’s eldest daughter with Kanye West went public with her edgy look, people online have intensely criticised the thirteen-year-old. Many people want North to be “normal” and make better life choices with parental supervision.
To be fair, if you know the Kardashian-Jenner clan, being judged by the world isn’t new for them. They understand that polarity comes with the lifestyle, and if we’re honest, they’ve turned these moments into billion-dollar empires.
It doesn’t hurt them in the way you might think or hope.
Therefore, garnering all of this polarising attention surrounding North’s identity could be genius. Is it ethical? I am no one’s personal judge, but it is possibly what’s needed to keep her and the Kardashian-Jenner lineage in the public eye and on our minds. Genius. And if you don’t like it, you can always turn the TV off.
Before now, Kim’s ex-husband, father to North, frequently and publicly made statements about how she chooses to parent their children—especially North West. You’d think he did a full investigation into their family values and had several discussions about parenting styles, but that’s a discussion for another time and day.
Regardless of how the world sees Kim Kardashian and how she parents her kids, we want to believe she loves her mom and appreciates how her mother loves and supports her.
Before we get out of here, we must make mention of how North West transformed into ‘Baddies’ star Natalie Nunn—with the extended prosthetic chin in frame. Oh, what a time to be alive!
