Watch Ghanaian artist Amerado try to win his lady back in ‘Obi Adi’

A month ago, Ghanaian rapper and singer Amerado released the official music video to his song ‘Obi Adi’. It opens with a fed-up leading lady, throwing his belongings onto the lawn. Her neighbours watch with judgmental eyes. Eventually, he leaves. How did the couple get to that point? We wanted to know, so we asked for an explanation.
In an email, the Twi-speaking Samini collaborator explained that the song “talks about the regret of not treating a partner right, leading to them leaving and finding someone who treats them better. The phrase suggests losing someone you love because another person showed them the care and value you failed to give.”
Today, February 14, is his birthday. If you’re on social media, wish him a good one and check out more of his music.

Check out the video directed by The Boldz below. As described by the Kumasi-born artist, it is an uptempo emotional reflection on love, mistakes, and the painful lesson of realising someone’s worth only after they’re gone.
