Shamon Cassette, one of my favourite people in the world, is releasing new music under the moniker “Bon Voyage.” Two young Irish producers teamed up with Mr. Cassette to make “Booshie.” In the video, the fashion-forward rapper takes to the stage perform the bubbly Hip-House track written about women who are “too good” to do anything. Quanna MC “Curve” (Personal)
Months ago at the Roseville Music Group HQ in Brooklyn, I connected with the young Savannah, Georgia rapper Quanna MC. When I heard “Curve,” it reminded me of the Southern Hip-Hop I loved to listen to in the early 2000s (Three 6 Mafia, Crime Mob, YoungBloodZ). Except this time, the overall message is to embrace your curves and your natural beauty along with rap’s all-time braggadocious homestay. Leaf “Nada” featuring Lil Yachty (Submitted)
From the day I met her, Leaf’s intent has remained the same: To put on for all independent women, all over the world. This time around, the New York City-native rapper-singer enlists Lil Yachty for “Nada.” Previously on Twitter, I mentioned that Beyoncé’s “Sorry” reminded me of Leaf’s musical style. Connie Diiamond “Dooms Day” (Personal)
Connie is the one: Since my introduction to Bronx-native Denzil Porter, I’ve been following fellow Bronx emcee Connie Diiamond. “Dooms Day” is a standout track that is the best introduction to her power-punching bars. Sonically, she reminds me of Remy Ma but with an updated, modern flow. Diiamond knows how to ride a trap beat like she made it. It comes from her latest project titled, “Trap Elliott.” I’m looking forward to seeing what else she does in the near future. I’m interested in anyone who can hold their own.

Haleek Maul “Return” (Submitted)
Brooklyn-based Bajan rapper Haleek Maul keeps it simple in his video for “Return” but spits volcanic hot lines. This molten hot track is from his “Prince Midas” album and is produced by Boody and Shy Guy. The album also features GrungeCake favourites Kill J and Saul Williams. Carl Sherron “11th Channel” (Personal Video Bonus)
I met Carl Sherron at a Beat Haus event last year. I was with Atlantan singer BOSCO at the back of Trans-Pecos, enjoying the weather and good vibes. When you are me, people tell you all kinds of things. I’ll just say that I am pleased to know that Carl Sherron is what he says he is.
