Between Cerrone’s ‘Kiss It Better‘ featuring Yasmin and Justice’s new release ‘ALAKAZAM !,’ the glory days of the 70s have a firm position in the 10s.
About a month ago, OWSLA’s DJ-Producer Mija remixed an A-Trak & Tommy Trash track. ‘Lose My Mind’ got a funky facelift. The original is just as good. However, Mija’s version is faster and gives the original a longer lifespan on the dancefloor.
Bearoid’s ‘Out Of My Mind’, evokes the let-your-hair-down feeling. It is relaxing yet uptempo like The Weeknd’s current tracks.
Before now, I was unfamiliar with Melbourne, Australia’s Throttle but his cover of Earth, Wind & Fire’s ‘September’ is precious. Party people, green and ripe, can vibe out to the lush production. If you like what you hear, you’d want to check out Throttle’s new track ‘Money Maker’ featuring Lunchmoney Lewis and Aston Merrygold.
Finally, Giom’s remix for by Bas Roos’ ‘Lazy Chords’ is the kind of Nu-Disco song you would hear blaring from a well-known festival stage. Mainstream Nu-Disco dare I say.

Nu-disco (sometimes referred to as Disco House or Electro-Disco is a 21st-century Dance music genre associated with a renewed interest in the 1970s and 1980s disco, early to mid-1980s Italo Disco and French House, as well as other synthesizer-heavy European Dance styles. The genre was especially popular in the mid-2000s.
The moniker appeared in print as early as 2002, and by mid-2008 was used by record shops such as the online retailers Juno and Beatport. Originally, they associated it with re-edits of classic Disco records and a handful of European Electronic producers who made music in that style. It is also used by Beatport, alongside Alternative Dance, to describe the music on several American labels that were previously associated with the genres Electroclash and French House.
