South Korea-based Japanese girl group XG’s new single ‘Puppet Show’ reimagines power: Watch the visual

Recently, South Korea-based Japanese girl group XG released their mini-album ‘New DNA’ with an accompanying music video for their latest single ‘Puppet Show’. In the fey video, the sextet sing about not getting what they deserve and not being heard by their partners. As the song progresses, an ultimatum ensues, “Treat me like a lady, this ain’t up for debatin’/Boy, stop playin’ ‘fore it goes a different route”. By the time the pre-chorus begins, XG reimagines a world where role reversal is a thing. In this world, they control the men, embodying the power to make them do anything they want, like plastic dolls.

Outside of the unanticipated “Bye Felicia” lyric and failing to give their viewers the entire picture with human men present, we can bet that some men in your life may feel somehow when played in their presence. We watched the visual with a man in the room—his reaction was as such. He couldn’t believe what he heard.

Before you head out, stream the project, which has officially entered and topped the Billboard Japan Hot Albums according to the comms received.
