Unfoonk gets personal in the visual of ‘Trial’, giving insight on the time he was sentenced to life in prison after losing a trial in 2008. Eleven years later, in 2019, Unfoonk was released with the help of his young brother Young Thug. Then, being signed to YSL Records the same year.
Surrounded by friends and family, Unfoonk melodically raps street poetry reflecting on his past life. The lyrics capture his sentiments towards law enforcement, his family, and his demons. Giving us a peek behind the curtain, Unfoonk shares many personal moments in the video. As he tells his story, his journey continues as he is now surrounded by success.
Unfoonk released his twelve-track album ‘My Struggle’ this year with features from Future, G Herbo, Gunna, etc. He also had a music video with Future to track ‘Running out of patience’ off the project. The story of the forgotten people serving long prison sentences to overcoming immense odds to make it back to his family is one we can all root for. Unfoonk is on the rise, and we’re here to see it.
