Spotify Wrapped powers platform to record 751 million monthly users in explosive Q4 surge

Spotify has closed out the fourth quarter of 2025 on a high note, reporting a record-breaking 751 million monthly active users (MAUs)—an 11 % year-on-year increase—largely powered by its annual Spotify Wrapped campaign and a series of product enhancements.
The streamer added 38 million new users in the quarter, marking the largest net gain in any three-month period in the company’s history. Premium subscribers also climbed to 290 million, showing resilience even after subscription price increases across more than 150 markets.
At the centre of this surge was the latest Spotify Wrapped—the end-of-year celebration of listening habits that has become a social media phenomenon. According to company data, the 2025 Wrapped experience engaged more than 300 million users and generated over 630 million social shares, underscoring just how deeply the feature resonates with listeners worldwide.
Wrapped’s blend of personalised stats, cultural moments and social-ready graphics turns users into brand ambassadors every December. Combined with new AI-driven tools like Interactive DJ and enhanced playlist features—plus updates to Spotify’s free tier—the campaign helped convert casual listeners into active participants across music, podcasts and audiobooks.
Financially, Spotify’s Q4 results were strong, with quarterly revenue around €4.5 billion and gross margins hitting record highs. The company’s stock reacted positively, climbing sharply after the earnings beat.
Looking ahead, Spotify has set ambitious goals for 2026, aiming for 759 million MAUs and continued subscriber growth as it expands into video, books and creator-centric AI experiences.
