Review: Fifty Shades of Grey Wine

With English actor and screenwriter Charlie Hunnan exiting the Fifty Shades of Grey cast as Christian Grey before production and his co-star Dakota Johnson allegedly rethinking her role as Anastasia Steele, one cannot help but wonder who will and can fill the positions available.

Under the many trying and comical lists of who-should-bes circulating mass media outlets and fans on social networks, we couldn’t help but conjure up our own list — over a bottle of wine — Fifty Shades of Grey wine. Be humored by our top picks of who we think should play Christian Grey in the upcoming film:

Brad Pitt

“He could be the well-polished businessman and freak.”

Denzel Washington

Here’s the thing: Whilst I think Denzel Washington loosely plays the same role in damned near every film he has been in, one of our stylists gave good reason as to why she selected him. She says, “He is the definition of smooth… Him in a suit is just amazing and we know he has unspoken sex appeal.” Whilst his sexy is subjective, he does look good in a suit. Especially, in GQ’s October issue of last October.

Bradley Cooper

“I always pictured him.”

Others in our team pictured Ryan Gosling, Leonardo DiCaprio or Ian Somerhalder.

Now, for the wines:

According to the publicist, most sippers really like Red Satin for reasons unknown to me but personally I like the way White Silk goes down the pipes. It is light and sweet in taste and that might be due to the floral aromatics of lychee, honey and pear. Apparently, there’s also crisp grapefruit, mineral and lush pear with a faint hint of butterscotch. White Silk is a blend of primarily Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc. This wine was fermented cool, under 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and aged in stainless steel to preserve its delicate and rich character.

On the contrary, Red Satin has a richer and sultry taste and now that I think about it, it probably mirrors Mr. Grey’s sexuality. It’s good to drink with a taco or steak dinner. This decadent blend has flavours of black cherry, cocoa powder, creamy caramel and vanilla, leather and clove spice. Red Satin is a blend of primarily Petite Sirah and Syrah, it was aged in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels, and you can taste it.

The wines retail for $17.99. Pick up a bottle and let it ferment until the movie is on Pay-Per-View.
