Wizkid and Burna Boy to headline Lost In Riddim festival

The event kicks off on October 2, 2021.

Producers behind the premier boutique R&B music festival Sol Blume are excited to announce the launch of a brand new festival property called ‘Lost in Riddim’. The inaugural event will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2021, and Sunday, October 3, 2021, in Sacramento, California.

The new event will be held at the historic Cesar Chavez Plaza near downtown Sacramento. While at the downtown park, fans should expect an intimate and highly curated festival-going experience with an underlying emphasis on diversity, inclusivity, and creativity.

As a black-owned independent business, Lost in Riddim is proud to present this year’s lineup that is made up entirely of black music artists, as well as some of the most respected artists in all of Africa and across the Caribbean region.

Each day of the festival will be headlined by one of Africa’s biggest artists – Wizkid on Saturday, October 2, 2021, followed by Burna Boy on Sunday, October 3, 2021; both of whom are some of the continents’ most streamed and decorated music artists of all time. Most recently, both Nigerian artists were winners at the 2021 GRAMMY Awards for Best Music Video with Wizkid acting as lead artist on Beyoncé’s ‘Brown Skin Girl’ song from the major motion picture ‘Lion King’ and for Best World Music Album following Burna Boy’s ‘Twice as Tall’ released last fall. Also, fans can expect special DJ sets all weekend long from Donavan’s Sound Club and DJ Cuppy, the latter of which recently helped Apple Music launch its first radio show in Africa earlier this spring.

Festival Co-Founders Fornati Kumeh and Jehu ‘Manny’ Hunter said in a press release:

We created this event to not only showcase some of the most popular international music artists in the entire world, many of whom continued to be overlooked by major US music festivals, but also create a unique celebration about the beauty of African culture. The team can’t wait to soon debut a completely unique festival-going experience in Sacramento this fall.

Throwing Lost In Riddim in Sacramento was also a no-brainer because not only is this our hometown, but our other festival Sol Blume has ultimately helped to lay the groundwork for us to expand locally and launch a second concept this fall.
