In the emotional clip, the ‘Old Town Road’ hitmakerw opened up about the past several months, sharing that he has been working with both a therapist and a psychiatrist. He admitted that whilst he had suspected the diagnosis for years, he resisted it out of fear of having to take medication.

With characteristic humour, he quipped that being Black, gay, and now bipolar felt like living life “on extreme hard mode”—before reassuring fans that he is doing much better and creating music with greater freedom and less fear.

The star also confirmed that new music is on the way, closing his update with an uplifting message of gratitude to supporters who have stood by him through a turbulent period.
