The Progressive R&B standout honours family legacy and artistic evolution on star-studded fourth studio release, arriving May 1.

Fresh off a career-defining moment, Durand Bernarr is ready to turn the page. The 2026 GRAMMY winner for ‘Best Progressive R&B Album’ (Bloom) will release his fourth studio album, ‘Bernarr’, on May 1—an intimate, self-titled project rooted in legacy and growth.
Named in honour of his father, Bernarr Ferebee Sr, the album signals a deeper exploration of identity, family and musical heritage. It arrives at a time when Bernarr’s artistry feels fully realised. His GRAMMY win was hailed by The New York Times as “one of the most joyous moments of the GRAMMY pre-show”, praising the “silky and self-reflective” tone of ‘Bloom’.
With ‘Bernarr’, he expands that sonic palette alongside an impressive roster of collaborators. The project features contributions from Bryan-Michael Cox, James Fauntleroy, Kandi Burruss, Khalid, Raphael Saadiq, Sevyn Streeter and Troy Taylor, among others.
As anticipation builds, ‘Bernarr’ positions Durand Bernarr not just as a standout vocalist, but as a storyteller shaping the future of Progressive R&B with intention and soul.
