Did 6LACK mishandle his missus? Watch ‘Bird Flu’ to be the judge
Sister girl is a patient, young woman.

Did 6LACK cheat on his misses? Could this lead single be a glimpse into what the new album would cover? If so, it would mean he played himself—hard—and that’s human. See ‘Loaded Gun’ on his 2018 album ‘East Atlanta Love Letter’. Four days ago, the Atlanta-bred star released the official video for ‘Bird Flu’. As usual, the record sounds great—and honest. This is not to say that he ever unethically embellishes, but for some reason, the storytelling on this one hits different!
It isn’t my thing to generalise IRL, so you wouldn’t get that from me today. However, I didn’t see 6LACK as a player. I think it is because I’ve always seen him through the lens of being a private and quiet family man. You don’t see many scandalous headlines about him. He seems to do what he loves, and doesn’t want for more. I could be wrong, and that feels so good to type.
“What goes around comes around, applies to me too
I know I hurt you, baby, but I lied to me too”
The open and honest lyrics on ‘Bird Flu’ suggest the ‘Calling My Phone’ singer might have cheated on his misses (and himself, as he poetically explains: “I know I hurt you, baby, but I lied to me too”). On the chorus, he puts it out on the table. He knows she has options, too:
“Know we both got options, still I’m locked in (Still I’m locked in)
Runnin’ after love ’til I’m exhausted
The ones worth everything don’t come ’round often (Come around)
If you want me on, then I’m so off them”
Above all, now, 6LACK seems to be in tune with himself and is perhaps coming to necessary realisations before it is too late to save his family.
“Hurts to say I blacked out at the time I needed help
Resentment, self-inflicted from the things I never said”
“Think I finally understand the lesson (Down to fan the flame)
First time, felt stuck, grew to feelin’ better (It make me wanna sing)Second time around, I wrote a letter (You’re all I’ll ever need)Third time around, I thought I had it figured (My heart is on my sleeve)
But I knew it was still some resistance, I’ve been fightin’ through the truth
They’re nothin’ to me
Yeah, yeah
Never gonna leave you, baby”
