Taubman describes her latest work as a ship on which she can finally sail home, a journey from complex trauma to becoming her true self. Initially a visual artist and critic in New York City, her time in Montana inspired her to create music, drawing influences from Leonard Cohen, Patti Smith, and David Byrne, alongside her bluegrass roots from Virginia.

Starting her music career in 2015, Taubman’s distinctive voice and storytelling ability found an audience with her debut album, ‘Revelation,’ in 2020. Her subsequent albums, ‘Blind Spot’ and ‘Ol’ Kentucky Road,’ explored themes of yearning for growth and freedom from trauma.

In ‘The Gospel of Getting Free,’ Taubman’s newfound mental health and hope shine through in songs like ‘A Reason I Was Born’ and ‘Sing Your Song.’ Even tracks on darker subjects carry humor and hope. Promising to be her most transformative work yet, this album invites listeners on a vivid emotional journey.
