Dim Mak Tuesdays features Feadz of the legendary Ed Banger crew, who is performing at Dim Mak Studios (Hollywood) January 14 for his official album release party celebrating the release of his debut album ‘Instant Alpha’ out January 20 on Ed Banger Records and we want to see you on the fourteenth. Click here to buy your tickets. Sydney-based Tech House producer LightYear joins the lineup as well as up-and-coming production duo Phantoms, whose self-titled EP is out now on OWSLA’s (Skrillex) Nest IV. Resident Los Angeles tastemakers Thee Mike B and Bones provide support.

About Feadz:

Feadz is a child of Hip-Hop, who made his first step as a DJ in the early nineties. After some adventures with a scratch band, and having worked alongside Mr Oizo, in 2001 he released his first solo record on Ellen Allien’s Berlin-based label B-pitch Control. Three other EPs followed on this legendary techno label before he reconnected to France and produced Uffie’s album ‘Sex Dreams’ and ‘Denim Jeans’ along with his own solo material on Ed Banger Records since 2005. With about sixty tracks and remixes to his name, Feadz is respected as a great producer and particularly as an exceptional DJ.

About LightYear:

Sydney-based tech house producer LightYear has gained worldwide praise and play with his first release Night/Vision EP on Sydney powerhouse Bang Gang 12s, in particular the flirtatious ‘Sex Education’ re-edited and powerplayed globally by Soulwax, 2manydjs, Erol Alkan, Tiga, and Brodinski. The Night/VisionEP was the first step on a road that has seen him innovate his way from electro through to the rebirth and reimagineering of techno and house. His 5GIRL5EP has gained even greater acclaim with high-rotation on BBC Radio 1. With his final release on Bang Gang, ‘Moderation’, a deep-house mover rooted in the European tradition, Light Year has turned heads including those of Tensnake and Tiga, who’ve dubbed it one of their favourite tunes of 2012. Of late, remixes from Paul Woolford’s Special Request project as well as Jori Hulkkonen (of My Favourite Robot and Turbo fame) on a pair of ‘Moderation’ remix EPs for rising new Sydney label Motorik! gained wide acclaim. With recent remixes for Tame Impala and Flight Facilities and his most recent ‘Bliss’ on This Is Music, LightYear is getting the global radio and dance floor slamming.

About Phantoms:

Phantoms is an up-and-coming production duo that has taken the 5 AM underground dance scene by force seemingly overnight with a unique blend of dirty Funk and Deep Electro grooves all their own. Whilst the rise of these Los Angeles-based artists has left many questions unanswered, the buzz surrounding them suggests this may not be the case for long. With their self-titled EP out now on OWSLA’s (Skrillex) Nest IV, Phantoms continues to make moves and dedicated fans from those who hear their music. The Phantoms EP offers a vivid elucidation of their nightmarish vision. Reminiscent of a sweaty rave in the basement of a haunted mansion somewhere in Romania, the unique sound masterfully matches supremely simple, yet intensely ominous chord progressions together with piercing tribal drums and raw techno synths to create an almost indiscernible insanity suitable for only the darkest of discotheques. Whilst ‘Do Yer Thang’ utilises chillingly funky vocal samples to accent a futuristically Deep House groove and heart-pounding drum patterns, “NYE” explores the future of the traditional club sound, taking the dance floor on a face-numbing sonic odyssey.
