DJ White Shadow, the Chicago based, Grammy nominated producer and DJ has announced The Clock Is Ticking EP, the 2nd EP of a 3 EP trilogy via Decon on December 10th. This one, a follow up to his Pussy Drugs Fear EP dives into an even more experimental trap aesthetic while engaging dance redefining how the genre is perceived today; a perception made apparent in the video for his title track “The Clock Is Ticking” directed by DJ White Shadow and Anthony Amponin. The video is a point of view piece on how two lives diverge into the different extremes of our societal boundaries. To celebrate the EP, DJ White Shadow also known as Paul Blair will be having an EP release party December 22nd at Riff Raff’s in New York City, a culmination of an exciting year.
2013 boasts a co-executive producer credit on Lady Gaga’s latest album ARTPOP, this in addition to the 8 songs he wrote for the album including the first single “Applause”. A humbling year indeed for a DJ who came up through the now infamous underground Detroit party scene some years ago where he eventually set up camp in his now resident city of Chicago. Since then he has been invited to play sets all over the world including New York City, Las Vegas, Barcelona, London, and Milan for clients such as Playboy, Louis Vuitton, Google, Nike, Marc Jacobs and the Obama campaign. Discovered by Lady Gaga in 2010, DJ White Shadow took a hiatus from the booth to contribute on her Grammy nominated, #1 album Born This Way and now ARTPOP. Keep an eye out for the third installment of the EP trilogy due out in January.
