Being in the room during the filming of this makes us feel like we are officially a part of Hip-Hop history.

Fuse traveled to Detroit to explore the record collection of J Dilla, the revered Hip-Hop producer who passed away in 2006 at the age of 32. Dilla’s work with The Roots, Common, Erykah Badu, Janet Jackson and A Tribe Called Quest, alongside his solo material, has made him one of the most influential and revered producers in music.

J Dilla’s Vinyl Collection – Crate Diggers

The special features Talib Kweli, Beat Junkies’ J. Rocc, DJ Spinna, Dilla’s brother and rapper Illa J, Amp Fiddler, Frank Nitt and Dilla’s mom Maureen Yancey discussing the producer’s life, influence and legacy. J. Rocc, DJ Spinna, Nitt and rapper Grap Luva visit his storage facility—seen on-camera for the first time—to look into a portion of the producer’s records.
