Ciara and Diamond Platnumz ignite the dancefloor for ‘Low’: Watch the visual
“When you be holding me, something comes over me”

Two days ago, American Pop-R&B superstar Ciara released the official music video for her new single featuring Tanzanian music legend Diamond Platnumz. Entering the club wearing a fluffy black-and-white fur coat, she immediately heads to the dancefloor to sing about her partner taking control during their moments of intimacy. For his verse, the Bongo Flava icon croons about her body driving him crazy and craving her presence. Leading up to its release, the ‘Level Up’ singer, which is now platinum, teased the record for weeks alongside her latest album ‘CiCi’. Now, the colourful visual is available for consumption.
Without further ado, check out the music video for ‘Low’ to see how the accomplished, award-winning megastars dance side by side to the infectious Afro sounds produced by Ebenezer and Blaq Tuxedo.

In July, Ciara officially became a citizen of Benin, where her West African roots derive, through a new law offering citizenship to descendants of enslaved Africans. Based on what I’ve researched, the movement is called the Blaxit movement—”a social movement that promotes the repatriation of Black people from the United States and Europe to Africa. The term now includes all people of African heritage who desire to move to Africa for many reasons, including new economic growth opportunities and cultural reasons.”

GRAMMY winners Jon Batiste and Andra Day release visual for ‘Lean on My Love’: Watch

Last week, multiple GRAMMY winner Jon Batiste released a black and white visual for ‘Lean on My Love’ featuring fellow GRAMMY winner and celebrated powerful vocalist Andra Day. From the first line, he sings about his special person taking the high road for too long and his desire for her to lean on him to be the bedrock/sweet spot for her. It’s a beautiful song about presence, reliable support, and wanting your partner(s) to heal. Watch the David Henry Gerson direction below. It’s from his brand new ninth studio album ‘Big Money’ out now.
Batiste, who also won his first Academy Award or Oscar in 2020, begins his ‘Big Money: Jon Batiste Plays America’ tour in support of his album on August 27. He will also co-headline at The Muny with Diana Ross. How incredible is that?!

Watch Florence + The Machine move briskly through green pastures in ‘Everybody Scream’
Fittingly so, their forthcoming album ‘Everybody Scream’ comes out on Halloween Day (October 31, 2025).

Four days ago, English Indie Rock band Florence + The Machine shared the official music video for ‘Everybody Scream’. Against a green pasture, the lead singer, Florence, walks in a bright red dress, brassiere, and matching heels, as a man rides backwards on a galloping horse—perhaps a symbol of disorientation. Eventually, her crew falls in line and walks with her, before ending up in a pub with the horseman. Ironically, in the howff, the people appear to be possessed by spirits. Notably, my thoughts are proven in the outro:
“The witchcraft, the medicine, the spells, and the injections
The harvest, the needle protect me from evil
The magic and the misery, madness and the mystery
Oh, what has it done to me?
Everybody scream”Watch the Autumn de Wilde direction for the single produced by Juliet Naylor. The band has been nominated for GRAMMYs seven times. Perhaps, they’ll take one home in 2026.

Doja Cat features rapping persona in 80s-inspired jam ‘Jealous Type’: Watch the video

Three days ago, American superstar Doja Cat released the elaborate official music video for her eighties-inspired track ‘Jealous Type’. In the stunning visual, the genre-blending artist often referred to as the “Queen of Pop-Rap” explains what spawned the insecurity she’s experienced, linked to the ex-girlfriend of the person in question:
“Said, “You wanna do what now with who?”
I don’t need a pin drop or text tonight
I ain’t even coming out with you
You don’t wanna show me off to your ex or your friends tonight
Nigga, you must be on Molly ’cause y’all ain’t kick it when we started up
And if she really was a friend like you said she was
I would’ve been locked in, but I called your bluff”.Watch the eye-popping video directed by Boni Mata below to see her strut her stuff in a leopard print swimsuit. The single is from her forthcoming album ‘Vie’, set to release on September 26, 2025.

Ciara and Tyga take us to Randy’s Donuts for ‘Dance With Me’: Watch

Singing in her signature, breathy soprano vocals we’ve all come to love and recognise, Ciara unleashes her latest bop ‘Dance With Me’ featuring Tyga. The catchy upbeat track is about a couple enjoying each other’s company by dancing and effortlessly burning calories. In the visual, the American Pop-R&B superstar dons three looks, including a loose-fitting powder-pink ensemble, leaning into the South Central aesthetic—specifically the Chicano’s Cholo way of dressing. Before the video ends, the ‘Level Up’ singer appears in the world-famous Randy’s Donuts parking lot in Inglewood, California. Check out the music video below.

And last but not least, American basketball point guard Russell Westbrook makes a quick cameo. The single is from her brand new nineteen-track album, ‘CiCi’, out now.

Watch Until the Ribbon Breaks’ dance-focused visual for ‘You’ starring Indian dancer Vishal Kashyap
Vishal Kashyap, a young performer from Madhya Pradesh, India, fluidly interprets Until the Ribbon Breaks’ “most simple song” he’s ever written, in a solo dance.
[media-credit name=”Courtesy” width=1200 align=”center”]
[/media-credit]In his signature one-of-a-kind manner, Welsh band Until the Ribbon Breaks (fronted by Pete Lawrie Winfield) shares the official music video to his new track, ‘You’ on Friday, July 25. The written song—beautifully written—tells a story about a person born with restrictions, unable to see the stars because they were born with their back to the stars. Perhaps, singing to the sole individual whom he dearly trusts, he asks if they can turn him over to see the world like everyone else. Figuratively, as the months and seasons pass us by, he questions that person if they would still love him when it snows—when things inevitably change.
About his contribution to this moment, Vishal wrote, “This isn’t just a few lines for a video. This is my heart. I come from a place where dreams like this are whispered quietly, not shouted out loud. I was a child with music in my bones and movement in my soul — but no clear path. To be creating with Pete now feels full circle. Like all those lonely nights of rehearsing with nothing but heart were leading to this. Thank you for holding space for my story and helping me turn a quiet dream into a loud, beautiful reality.”
Adding to it, Pete shared what inspired the record, “‘You’ is the most simple song I have ever written. I don’t mean it was the easiest — in fact, it required a level of vulnerability that I often avoid. It has taken me a long, long time to realize that behind all the white noise and clutter of my busy mind, there is a lot of peace. I just have to remember to forget myself. My only way to do that? Gratitude. ‘You’ is a giant thank you, for many, many things — too many to mention — but they all live under one roof: to be alive. Simple.”
Check out the enchanting moment frozen in time below. It follows up Until the Ribbon Breaks’ third studio album, ‘Visitor’, released in 2024, featuring Homeboy Sandman, La Pardo, Emoni Wilkins, and Lucius.

Fashion, the artist behind ‘New York Talk’, speaks on style, sound, and self-invention (Interview)
In this wide-ranging interview, the genre-defying talent unpacks New York nostalgia, the legacy of style icons, and how fashion, music, and identity collide.
[media-credit name=”Courtesy” width=662 align=”center”]
[/media-credit]In a city where sound and style are synonymous, few artists embody that duality quite like Fashion. Her latest track, ‘New York Talk’, is a pulsating love letter to the city that raised her—fast-paced, distinct, and endlessly cool. But beyond the music, Fashion is a storyteller: Through what she wears, what she says, and what she dares to create. We caught up with the multifaceted artist to talk about her collaboration with Studdah Man, the deeper meaning behind her moniker, and what makes the New York experience so unshakably hers. From Anna Wintour’s exit at VOGUE US to the cinematic power of fashion, no topic was off the table. And as she hints at what’s to come next, one thing is clear: Fashion isn’t just her name—it’s a movement.
Your latest song, ‘New York Talk’, is unique, uptempo and fun. Are there any specific moments or experiences in the city that remind you of your song? How was it working with Studdah Man? Were you physically in-studio together?
Fashion: Yes, there are specific places in New York that remind me of ‘New York Talk’, especially the lyrics, like the nearest bodega store. You can always find a quote from my lyrics (“I ain’t never seen ass like that”). It was really dope to work with Studdah because he provides a sense of guidance and knowledge. It’s always room for correction or another way to approach things. He allows me to still be creative and myself, just with a little more spice of wisdom.
As a fashion connoisseur and wardrobe stylist, how did the news about Anna Wintour stepping down from VOGUE US make you feel?
Fashion: That news took me by big surprise! She is a staple in the game, a legacy that will forever ring. I was sad to see her go, but also excited to see what’s next! As Fashionista myself, I’m always looking for the next shock, so I can make ’em all gag! I just feel if it’s not daring, we [are] not caring. (Laughs) I love a “make-them-all-talk” look. That’s why my name is Fashion! Push it over the ledge, darling!
Is your musical ability hereditary?
Fashion: Yes, my music abilities are definitely hereditary. My mother used to sing around me all the time. She had the voice of a beautiful hummingbird sitting on a tree. (Laughs) It was always like a movie clip with her, so I picked up on melodies and adapted that ability to sing. My father was more of a fashion icon and rapper. I used to rap to him all day around the house and put words together with a melody. I was onto something at an early age—a little flow with a melody, and I had style. It was just timing that I needed to put it all together to give the masses who I am today: Fashion.
Were you named? If not, how and when did you decide to wear your name?
Fashion: At first, I would call myself all kinds of funny rap names. They all was not working. You just know when something feels right? I truly believe I didn’t pick the name Fashion, it chose me. The universe decided my aura. You can’t fake authenticity.
The intersection of music and film is a powerful and dynamic relationship where music significantly enhances the emotional impact, narrative flow, and overall experience of a movie. What is the correlation between fashion and film to you?
Fashion: The correlation in fashion and film is wow… the most input thing to me, which is emotion. They go hand to hand. Whenever I have to deliver my words or anyone else… if you are reading a script, you better put some feelings into them words and make the people feel you and most importantly, believe you. Whether on the mic or script, say them words with conviction and truth.
Is there a new single from your forthcoming album on the horizon? If you can share, let us know what we should expect.
Fashion: We have one coming, but will keep it a surprise for now. My main focus is ‘New York Talk’. It’s different but catchy. Sometimes, time can be your best friend if you use it right.
What inspired the music video treatment for ‘New York Talk’?

Fashion: What inspired the music treatment was Missy Elliott… Always been a fan and amazed at her creativity and devotion to push the bar. We don’t have that now in this generation, and I wanted to create that in my own way and bring back creativity and imagination. It’s time for the creative artists to make a way for change and growth within the music and wardrobe.
What’s next for you?
Fashion: What’s next for me is acting. I love movies and the feeling I get when I watch animation or superhero movies or anything with lessons or change in the world so… you never know. You might look up and boom, here I go! It’s coming and I’m ready to show the universe what I got.

Ghana’s beloved singer Gyakie’s captures Soweto in latest video for ‘Unconditional’: Watch

Approximately six hours ago, Ghanaian singer Gyakie shared her official music video for her new song ‘Unconditional’. In the video directed by Wayward, she dances alongside four young women and rides through the streets of South Africa on the back of a motorcycle. Some familiar places shown include Rivonia, Vilakazi Street in Soweto (by former South African President Mandela’s house), the famous towers in Soweto (where Costa Titch filmed the viral video ‘Big Flexa’ featuring C’buda M, Alfa Kat, Banaba Des, Sdida & Man T), and local street dancers (or “intersection hustlers”) in traffic at the light (or the robot, as locally described).

Currently sitting at eleven thousand views and counting, the “song bird” has given fans her growing international fan base what they’ve been waiting for—more music. A month ago, Gyakie shared the official music video for ‘Sankofa’.
If you are unfamiliar with the meaning of Sankofa, according to my research, it translates to “go back and get it” or “return to your past”. It is a word from the Akan people of Ghana that signifies the importance of learning from the past to inform and improve the present and future. Like Gyakie, Sankofa, a bird, with its head turned backwards, carrying an egg in its mouth, symbolises the act of retrieving knowledge from the past.
Check out that music video, too.

Watch Nigeria’s Olamide official music video for ’99’ featuring Seyi Vibez, Asake, Young Jonn and Daecolm
[media-credit name=”Instagram” link=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DJ103ZuMQmr/?img_index=1″ width=662 align=”center”]
[/media-credit]Yesterday, Nigeria’s beloved artist Olamide released the official music video for his new song ’99’ featuring Seyi Vibez (who people felt was biting Asake’s style in 2022), his protégé and breakout star Asake, Nigerian hitmaker Young Jonn and Southern African artist Daecolm, who has a soothing voice. Throughout the music video, behind-the-scenes clips of each respective artist, sprinkled throughout, of them living their best lives with musical collaborators (Asake and Central Cee onstage and Seyi Vibez and Soulja Boy sharing space), business partners (Olamide and Empire Distribution Founder and CEO Ghazi), and more. The record is from his forthcoming album eponymous album. The self-titled album is set to come forth (June 18) and will feature seventeen bold tracks.

Honestly, when I saw an official music video uploaded to YouTube, I became curious to see if Asake would appear in it with a performance shot of his own, but he wasn’t. I am not going to lie. It was a bit disappointing, but that is the hopeful spirit in me. In February 2025, the GRAMMY-nominated Nigerian superstar reportedly left YBNL to start his imprint, Giran Republic, allegedly translated to “a slang term popular in his home state of Osun, which loosely translates to a person who moves differently, a boss, or a leader.”
