Brooklyn rapper HDBeenDope drops video for fiery single ’20k’: Watch
With an opening line that pretty much everybody can relate to:
Last month, I made $20,000. How the f*ck am I broke?
HDBeenDope comes out swinging on this bar-heavy track. This song is definitely too short for my liking. I was hooked from his first bar, and he didn’t let up. His flow was consistent, the style wasn’t cookie-cutter; it was just all together well done. The video is dark, meshing perfectly with the lyrics. HDBeenDope definitely left me craving more from him.

Playboi Carti makes highly-anticipated return with single and video: Watch ‘@ MEH’
Ahead of Playboi Carti’s upcoming album release titled ‘Whole Lotta Red’, the Atlanta rapper has dropped his latest single and video ‘@ MEH’, and is currently #1 trending on YouTube. The video is simple and artistic, something that those who appreciate minimalism will enjoy. The video features Carti in front of a blue-green backdrop, rapping his verses on the floor. Ever so often, we get a treat: a gorgeous model twerking.
[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMDOSLEVdBw&h=315]
The song itself, however, is not for the Hip-Hop old heads who hate the stylistic choices of today’s Rap artists. This is textbook mumble rap–catchy, fun, but the lyrics are somewhat unintelligible. That doesn’t mean that this isn’t a hit though, we know it is. The anticipation for a Carti return is too high and he’s just too good. Additionally, he and Lil Uzi Vert have piqued our interests, either preparing for collaboration or hinting at a feud. The two have been trading Instagram posts and cryptic tweets, leading Hip-Hop conspiracy theorists to believe that something may be up between the two. Only time will tell.

A&R Feedback: VBae – Drugz
Could this new artist get you hooked?
This video surprised me. The beat is super fire, the sample looping draws you in, the beat is so good, that you ignore that the song title is spelt out as ‘Drugz’ in the video. While I enjoyed the introduction to VBae and her very sexy animal print bodysuit walking up the driveway to a G-wagon and nice abode, what captures you is the beat. The song is titled ‘Drugz’, however, the lyrics don’t mention the usual conversation and buzz words associated with drugs in a song. There is no discussion of drug sales, preparation, clientele, robbery, anyone being charged with a RICO, or feigns in a trap house. This song seems to be your typical f&#!k me song but on a beat that Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Big Krit, or Mac Miller might usually float on. ‘Drugz’, and the few times mentioned, addiction seems to be all about her little pill if you catch my drift…
This Floridian rapper’s lyrics do flow over the beat, and her voice actually sounds good with the air around the song. So not only does her curvaceous body look good in her corset and bodysuit, but she is serving you overall sex appeal without the creepy Carole Baskin vibe.
I will say she needs to upgrade her videographer. I do not understand the point of her being on a dining room table for a song titled ‘Drugz’, but is rapping about how sweet her candy is. The shots of flowers, car emblems, and table cloths don’t really do anything for the imagination either. VBae repetitively asks in the song, “Can you get it wet? Can you get it drippin’?” and the only thing wet on her is her wet body wave wigs she wears in the video, which is interesting because she actually stands in a pool. During this time of sitting at home and boredom, people are showing significant creativity with video editing apps that are available for free in the Apple Store. Adobe has been offering sales on different editing software for a few weeks now.
Again, the beat is dope. The beat sets a specific tone that you can smoke to this, ride to this, or get lusty to this. Big ups and shoutout to who made the beat. But the artist definitely sparks an interest to see what else she will put out in the future. The lyrics do not match the song title or the video, but check it out for yourself…

The streets of the United Kingdom are heated. Packed with talented producers and rappers with stories to tell, each artist presents their haunting material with ace production and matching visual components. Even at the lower levels of productions, they continue to impress me with what they’re able to bring to the marketplace. ‘Yin Yang Freestyle’ (or ‘Draw for the Pen’) by Hip-Hop/Grime Manchester duo Rare Experience (Wrecker Don and Maelstrom Jetson) and produced by Anyllson and Finicox features bone-chilling vocals that ascend the gruelling production. CRASH shares visual component for a song about being ‘Homeless In LA’: Watch
‘Homeless In LA’, unfortunately, will resonate with so many people around the country and the globe, living on the streets. The Los Angeles Times reported that in 2019, approximately 60,000 people were without homes.
