  • American singer-songwriter Sebastian Paul’s latest single ‘Back and Forth’ ultimately dispels needing a break

    Currently based between Los Angeles and Colorado, Sebastian Paul claims no specific city of origin as he grew up in a military family. The singer-songwriter, and producer has captivated audiences and fans with his two dynamic EPs, ‘Trojan Horse’ and ‘Boy Oh Boy’, both of which perfectly showcases his unique electronic synthy sound and unconventional pop vocals. His latest single ‘Back and Forth’ is a brilliantly mastered alternative Electro-Pop track that demands attention.

    The lyrics are drenched in emotion as his heartfelt vocals reveal inner thoughts of missing an ex-lover, aching for her presence. Sebastian described the emotion that drove the songwriting process as:

    Having very genuine feelings for someone, then having to cut them out of your life indefinitely… you find that the only thing you truly desire is to simply be able to talk to them again.

    Although the lyrics are somewhat dismal in nature, they are backed by a fun, catchy beat which incorporates steady guitar chords and a head-bopping baseline. Sebastian not only wrote ‘Back and Forth’, but the young artist also co-directed the music video for the track solidifying is creative range.

  • Victoria sextet Carmanah share quarantine visual for ‘Best Interests’: Watch

    Making the best of the current COVID-19 situation, Carmanah cleverly puts together their newest visual for ‘Best Interests’. The visual, filmed by each member of the band in their home, showcases each band member playing their instruments in their own place. The song written by Laura Mina Mitic, speaks on love and having her lover’s best interest at heart. Their performance of the song and the aesthetic of this visual was beautifully done. With scenes shifting from the lead singer, other guitarists, keyboardist, and a drummer, the simple creativity and execution of this vision are very commendable. This single comes before their upcoming project ‘Iris’.

  • Denver artist VC Hearts shares 90s-inspired video for ‘Grimy’: Watch

    VC Hearts, an artist from North Denver, Colorado, pokes at nostalgia for 90s kids with the visual for his new song ‘Grimy’. VC Hearts is an artist you are going to want to pay attention to if you ever wanted Bladee to have a child with a 90s WWE wrestler, and even if you have never wanted that, you still need to give this song a listen.

    [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-Vl-ZbFtUM&h=315]

    VC Hearts is the future sound of the internet, continuing and further developing sounds created like collectives such as Yung Lean’s Sad Boys and GothBoiClique. SRDBEATZ’s production on the track is a style that has not tapped into the mainstream yet, but soon will with artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Yung Lean, and even The Weeknd using similar production styles. I can’t describe ‘Grimy’ much other than this shit will make you want to inject some high-speed internet directly into your bloodstream and fight someone in a dark alley! If that didn’t make sense, then listen to the song and it will make sense. Also, to be noted, the video is shot by Isaiah Castillo and showcases a 90s VHS aesthetic that introduces us to the ‘Grimy’ artist. Check out the video above.

  • Watch Puerto Rican artist Kray J’s official video for ‘Paca Pacas’

    Kray J is one of the hottest new Latin artists to join the scene, released the official video for ‘Paca Pacas’ back in February. Attracted to money and getting it fast, the Puerto Rican artist asks for the “well-off” to prove themselves. As loosely translated by my highschool friend, Classic, Kray J says, if you claim to have stacks (of money), she dares you to take them out and show it to her. Check out the visual for the song below to learn more about her lifestyle.

  • Phoenix artist Jaywop shares official visual for ‘Big Bad’: Watch

    Shortly after his vehicle breaks down in the middle of nowhere, he sits and performs the words to the song. Bringing the lyrics to life, Phoenix artist Jaywop demonstrates what loneliness looks like in his visual for ‘Big Bad’. A car, the only car on the road, won’t stop for him, and he is left to walk to the nearest gas station. We don’t have a clue how far out it is, but we know it is not within plain view. Sometimes, that’s how life is: In deepest and darkest and loneliest moments, you will not be able to depend on anyone. You have to walk for miles by yourself to get to a gas station or the next phase of life. Your survival is your responsibility. Watch the video below.
