  • Josie Dunne’s social distancing visual for ‘Lost’ speaks to the Gen-Z quarantined soul: Watch

    Last week, Nashville, Tennessee artist Josie Dunne released a song about growing up and growth, and the complexities of life. Edgy songwriting paired with stripped-down guitar playing in the back, Josie Dunn has a knack for telling stories in a way that most people can relate to and understand. ‘Lost’ is from her six-track EP ‘Late Teens/Early Twenties’, which is out right now via Atlantic Records. On track #3, she has a feature with Dahl on a song called ‘Stay the Way I Left You’. Watch the social distancing visual below, which exhibits astounding direction from Joey Brodnax.

  • Brooklyn Drill star Sheff G releases official visual for ‘No Suburban Pt 2’: Watch

    Brooklyn bad guy Sheff G just unleashed the official video for ‘No Suburban, Pt 2’. It comes from the forthcoming album ‘One and Only’. Letting us all know it is a diss and not a song, he drills on the opps one more time. Equipped with close-captioned lyrics at the bottom, he wants to make sure everyone who sees the video hears and knows what he’s saying. Implementing visuals from the first ‘No Suburban’, showing a younger Sheff with long hair, it’s clear [to me] he’s talking about who he was talking about then, although he has yet to confirm my speculation. Watch the video now. It released some hours ago; it already has 43,964 views and counting.

  • Have you watched ‘squeaking rapper’ 645AR’s video for viral hit ‘Yoga’? Twitter is in rage

    645AR just saved the world with the new visual for his viral hit song ‘Yoga’. Whether you are hearing the song for the first time, now or you have seen the many popular TikToks using the track, I can promise the song will be stuck in your head. The song is a beautiful mess and every time it ends, I find myself listening to it again. Maybe, it is because I love it. Maybe, it is because I don’t understand it. The same concept applies to this exciting visual.

    [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0PCMNels-s&h=315]

    After watching it many times, I get it and to be honest… I love it! This is what the future sounds like and we got to see what the future looks like with this one. This is fun, exciting, new and the song just makes me happy. Many people will wonder if this is serious or if this is a parody, but regardless of what it is… I can’t get the song out of my head and I can’t stop smiling. I have never seen anything like this video before. I have never heard anything like this song before. The song is infectious, but in a good way. In a way, that counteracts all the negativity spread by the infectious Coronavirus. Maybe, 645AR is saving the world and despite this being a silly song… It is saving the world in a sense, by spreading some positivity during these dark times.

  • West London’s Alana Maria releases catchy breakup R&B song ‘Happier’: Watch the video

    As someone who appreciates clear, crisp vocals and lyrics, London’s rising star Alana Maria is just my speed. The young UK singer is gaining traction and we can see why. This break-up song is fresh and straight-forward. The vocals are clean, the beat is catchy, and this debut is the type of confident track that we look for from artists breaking into the industry. The video is adorable and simple. As a break-up song, the accompanying video actually made me feel like she’s really over the subject of the song. It’s carefree and happy, which is exactly what the message of the song is. Real R&B isn’t dead, and Alana Maria is making sure that remains true.

    Name: Moneybagg Yo
    Representing: Memphis, Tennessee
    Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap
    For fans of: Yo Gotti
    Single from: Time Served
    Produced by: Dmactoobangin, Javar, Track Gordy, YC
    Song of the Day: May 6, 2020
    Label(s): Roc Nation, Collective Music Group, Bread Gang Entertainment, N-Less Entertainment, Interscope Records.

    Towards the end of April, Moneybagg Yo released the official visual for ‘Speak 4 Em’, which happened to become one of my favourite songs on his album ‘Time Served’. It gives me everything I need in a modern-day rap song: Affluent shit-talking, as I like to call it, which means the type of shit someone can talk and back up, the quintessential trap house setting, and drip for days. Watch the video below featuring his current girlfriend Ari Fletcher, who has a child with Chicago rapper G Herbo.

  • Dancehall artist Jafrass is the genre’s ‘One Word Boss’: Watch the official visual

    ‘One Word’ is the slang on the lips of many avid Dancehall listeners since the world slow down following the COVID-19 virus.

    The term ‘One Word’ was created and made further popular by Dancehall recording artist Jafrass, hailing from the Ainsley ‘NotNice’ Morris-led Notnice Records music label. The hard-hitting Dancehall track portrays a traditional urban Jamaican gangster portfolio, which consists of making money, courting beautiful women, tons of arms and ammunition, not to mention extravagant marijuana usage and domination of your hometown.

    Jafrass was accompanied by Wikid Media in his hometown of the western section of the island, where hundreds flocked all decked out in ‘One Word’ apparel.

    Wa me name? One Word Boss! Inna Fendi a weh me buy gal draws. Me nuh take check me gun dem fast, raps Jafrass on the hook.

    The official visuals for ‘One Word’ was uploaded to his official VEVO channel on April 28, 2020, and has since been a trending success with over 400,000 views and is the #9 trending video throughout the entire island within the past week on YouTube.

    [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szieJyd8A8M&h=315]

    This single also comes after an alleged beef between Jafrass, Notnice, and international recording artist Popcaan, who were all formerly apart of the same musical camp.

    Dem a nuh action killer. Internet badman, caption killer dem… Diss di link and think dem escape, buss one inna dem face, Jafrass deejays in ‘Well Precise’.

    Another single, which was recently released and have many Dancehall insiders labelling it as a Popcaan diss record.

    However, the saga is still majorly speculations and all involved have yet to release any concrete statements many are left wondering is this the end of the ‘Unruly’ camp or will both parties emerge as their own separate Dancehall strongholds.
