Watch Ghanaian musical stars Amerado and Samini portray loverboys in ‘Ankonnam (Remix)’
Is Amerado into polygamy or polyamory?

About a month ago, Ghanaian musical stars Amerado—a predominantly Twi-speaking artist and Samini collaborated on the ‘Ankonam (Remix)’. In the opening scene, Amerado lays eyes on a young woman wearing a short blond bob, a sleeveless black top, and short light blue denim jeans. Throughout the picture, both artists adore their female leads, and Samini mentions the possibility of getting married. Towards the end of the picture, the artist, whose name translates to “Governor” in the Akan language, appears with two women. We can’t hear Twi, so we don’t know if he explains why two women are in the scene with him, but we’re guessing he may be into polygamy (a prevalent lifestyle in West Africa) or polyamory. Watch the Kojo Myles-directed official music video below.

Three days ago, Amerado released a five-minute song called ‘Angry’. Most of it is in his native language, but you could hear the skilled bilingual rapper mention Ghana rappers, being a cynic, and how fans would only show love when you’re up below.

“Rumble music”
[media-credit name=”SoundCloud” link=”https://soundcloud.com/feddthegod/move-on-produced-by-aurora-beats” width=1024 align=”center”]
[/media-credit]After releasing four bangers earlier this year (three-track EP ‘Where’s Fedd?’ featuring Wiz Khalifa and Lil Gnar and ‘Love Hate’), Fedd the God blessed his fans with the official music video for ‘Danny Phantom’ in November. In the song, the Taylor Gang artist talks about people aspiring to play him for some fame, earning more money and gaining more female companionship and activity with the freaky women in his ranch (for the lack of a better word). Likening himself to the American animated television series, the North Side Pittsburgh rapper also criticises the women for leaving their spouses at home to cheat on them with him and not requiring a spouse. Watch the music video below to listen to your new “rumble music” anthem.

[/media-credit]Two days ago, Redman released a new video for his song called ‘Im On Dat Bullshit’, which opens with the legendary rapper at a drive-thru restaurant (New Jersey Fried Chicken). As the Newark, New Jersey-bred staple orders two meals, his lady of Latin heritage enters the car. To make sure their order is correct, Redman pulls over to check. He discovers there are no napkins in their takeaway bag. As a result, he asks his lady to search the backseat for napkins to wipe/clean his hands. Instead of seeing napkins, she finds a new golden-wrapped condom. Watch the five-minute video below to see how it plays out. The heavy-hitting single is from Funk Doc’s latest thirty-two-track album ‘Muddy Waters Too’, a continuation of his 1996 album ‘Muddy Waters’ released on RAL/Def Jam.

Watch MIA’s symbolic music video for ‘Marigold’
Immerse yourself in the vibrant, genre-defying world of MIA.
[media-credit name=”X” link=”https://www.instagram.com/p/C694z6APESG/?hl=en&img_index=1″ width=1024 align=”center”]
[/media-credit]MIA, a global Pop provocateur, released the official music video for ‘Marigold’. In it, she sings about the world being in trouble and needing a miracle. The track showcases her signature fusion of culture, sound, and vivid storytelling. Self-directed alongside frequent collaborator Quentin Deronzier, the video delivers a kaleidoscopic journey through themes of identity, resilience, and renewal. Watch the music video below to see how the genre-fusing Pop star [literally] incorporated marigolds into the treatment, which is a symbol of spiritual significance and celebration in South Asian culture.
[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAHMO44kh4Q&h=315]
Visually, the video is a masterclass in maximalism. It features an eclectic mix of costumes, from traditional saris to edgy streetwear, further emphasising the artist’s knack for blending disparate influences. Intricate choreography punctuates the narrative, with dancers weaving through vibrant fields of marigolds and industrial cityscapes alike. This duality—nature versus urbanisation—is a recurring motif that adds layers of complexity to the video.
Fans and critics alike have lauded ‘Marigold’ for its bold aesthetic and thought-provoking themes. Social media has been abuzz with interpretations, with some highlighting the song’s nods to environmental consciousness and others focusing on [its exploration of] cultural identity in a globalised world.
MIA has long been celebrated as an artist who pushes boundaries, both musically and visually. With ‘Marigold’, she once again cements her place as a creative force unafraid to challenge conventions and spark meaningful conversations. As anticipation builds for her upcoming album, ‘Marigold’, serves as a tantalising glimpse into the next chapter of MIA’s artistic evolution. The video not only reaffirms her reputation as a pioneer but also reminds audiences of the transformative power of music and art to connect people across cultures.
Whether you are a longtime fan or new to her work, ‘Marigold’ is a must-watch, encapsulating everything that makes MIA a trailblazing icon in the music world.
