Women Entrepreneurs Honoured At 2014 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards

October 17, 2014 sees the 8th annual Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards take place in Deauville, France, coinciding with the 10th Women’s Forum Global Meeting (October 15-17, 2014).

The global competition, launched in 2006 by Cartier in conjunction with the Women’s Forum, McKinsey & Co. and INSEAD business school, was set up to identify, support and encourage projects by female entrepreneurs in their most vulnerable phase – women entrepreneurs starting-up. Since their establishment in 2006, the Awards have supported over 125 promising female business-owners and given recognition to a further 38 Laureates. From a shortlist of 18, six Laureates globally, one from each region, will receive the Cartier Women’s Initiative Award, along with $20,000 in funding, a full year of coaching, lifetime access to the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards community and unique networking and visibility opportunities.

With applicants competing from 15 different countries across the globe; this year’s Awards has seen the largest pool of applications it’s history, and promises to shed light on impressive new entrepreneurship initiatives that have created ethical, sustainable, and scalable solutions to pressing social challenges. A few examples range from Argentina’s Gabriela Diaz development of ‘ProText’ technology which is able to provide the emergency services with essential patient information in seconds, to the United States’ Eleni Antoniadou with her ‘Transplants Without Donors’ project which creates artificial organs for human transplants.
