Watch English Hip-Hop artist Loyle Carner’s video for ‘BFG’

Straight from the Southside of London, comes the super intelligent and talented emcee Loyle Carner. His EP, titled ‘A Little Late’ is something I have been bumping non-stop for the last few days, and ‘BFG’ is by far my favorite track. The beat is a very soulful, emotional, hard-hitting banger that fits perfectly with his beautiful, heartfelt, pure and honest lyrics about the loss of his stepfather. Personally, I can relate to it big time because I’ve lost my hero (stepfather Sparky) a few years back.

Anyone who has dealt with a loss (that heavy), can feel the lyrics. Of course I’m sad… I miss my fucking dad; those few lyrics hit me hard. You can feel his pain and sadness. Even towards the end of the song, I felt he was tearing up. I know I was. Bottom line: I love this song; as well as the simplistic yet artsy video that if you look into it, you can see the metaphor relating to his lyrics. Besides that, I believe it helps the listener pay attention to his deepness. I can’t wait to hear more from this young cat. Mad thanks to Loyle Corner for helping me. I’m sure many others feel “less alone” in that type darkness because of your music.
