Watch: Layla Hendryx’s “B.T.W”

Layla Hendryx returns with a great visual for her B.T.W video. Part of the OVO Sound Radio show on Beats 1, the Somalian rapper is moving strong with Toronto on her back. Directed by Rodzilla, the video mimics late night weekend vibes; the song itself is produced by Jmak Beatz. As a favorite out of the collection, I am loving this no-holds barred-edge Hendryx establishes in the music. A fusion of strength and femininity, she is pushing stereotypes placed on women.

In a recent FADER interview, Layla talks about the shoot:

“‘B.T.W” is basically capturing just a bit of the party life.” “Everyone comes together from all different sides of the city, from urban areas to gated communities; we all have something in common: we like to have a good time.”
