We didn’t make it this way, but sometimes, music takes you back to a place you’ve been or to a place you have yet to visit. It’s that way with The Black Keys’ music for me. As ‘Crawling Kingsnake’ played, I have imagined myself in the South, sitting around on a porch talking with friends and subsequently getting ready for supper at a friend’s house. It is a warm lazy weekend, sweat beads are dripping down my forehead, and the smell of fresh-cut lawn lacerates through the air. There is nothing like enjoying a hot Summer day in the South, most especially when you are accustomed to living in New York City. It is a different kind of chill and enjoyment. There’s sweet tea, which I don’t particularly drink, fresh fruit pies, succulent barbecue for the meat-eaters and now vegan and plant-based eaters, and a cold beverage has a different purpose. In most cases, it is an ailing complement to the temperature in the atmosphere.

When it comes to the Tim Hardiman direction, not only is the treatment well-executed, the typography used in the motion picture is wonderful, too. Watch the eye-catching visual below. It might take you somewhere, too.
