Nigerian singer Tems now #1 on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart

The singer has spent six weeks on the chart.

Nigerian singer Tems has moved up to the number one spot on Billboard’s ‘Next Big Sound’ chart for this week.

The Billboard Next Big Sound Chart, which is updated every week unveils Tems as the number one music act on the chart for the week of June 26, 2021, dethroning Italian music group Maneskin from the top spot. The singer occupied the number fourteen spot in the previous week. Tems has spent a total of six weeks on the Billboard Next Big Sound chart.

Tems released her debut EP, ‘For Broken Ears’, on September 25, 2020. The project consists of seven tracks including hit singles like ‘Damages’, and ‘The Key’.

According to Billboard, the leading provider of online music analytics and insights that track hundreds of thousands of artists worldwide, the Next Big Sound chart tracks “the fastest accelerating artists during the past week, across all major social music sites, statistically predicted to achieve future success.”
