Meet Tamsir Thiam

Italian model Tamsir Thiam, 20 and 6 foot 1 inch, made his debut last year at the Ermenegildo Zegna Fall show. Soon after, he walked for Gucci’s Alessandro Michele five times in a row. Before becoming a full-time model, he was a shooting guard on Brescia’s city basketball team and studied electricity and mechanics. In the future, he hopes to return to Senegal, where his ancestors originate “to go back and do something”.
Thiam is in Milan; represented by three different regions: Red Model Management (New York), Bananas Models (Paris) and Independent Model Management (Milan).
Some of my favourites brands he’s walked for are H&M (H&M x Giambattista Valli Show Fall 2019), Coach (Coach 1941 S/S 20 Show), GCDS (GCDS S/S 20 Show).
If you’re not familiar with my Model of the Week features, in this section, we’ve written about the likes of David Gandy, Georgia May Jagger, Crystal Renn and Aleece Wilson, who was featured in Beyoncé’s Part 2: #WhatIsPretty video. Be on the lookout for more of this rising star.
