Stream: Layla Hendryx’s “Channel 6” EP

Layla Hendryx rebirths new vibes to music with her debut EP, “Channel 6.” As a Toronto native, the young Somali talent blends Hip-Hop beats and R&B melodies. I think the music is honest and is set to inspire a cultural movement for young girls. Developing a genre separate from traditional labels, Hendryx has carved a particular lane of her own. Produced by JMAK and DennisBeatz, both provide the tone of classic throwback records with a modern-Trap twist.

I foresee an awesome collaboration with Drake, The Weeknd, and PARTYNEXTDOOR. That alone would be amazing for Canada. On the girl power vibe, a collaboration with Jhené Aiko and SZA would be cool too. A voice that has been missing in the industry for a minute, Layla Hendryx’s raw talent is respected and appreciated. I think this young queen will soon be on the global wave, and I’m in support of the journey.

Recently, Layla Hendryx song was played on OVO Sound Radio.
